The “Free From All” Fundraiser

Welcome to the 2021 Jazz Con Class Radio fundraiser, “Free From ALL.” The future of our normal lifestyle was interrupted immediately with a catastrophic beginning of 2020, as it gave way to a relentless killer, and in the form of a virus, the Covid-19 pandemic. Before the year was over it rapidly swept around the world like wildfire taking the lives of millions and devastating all the lucky ones who survived. There was a breakthrough at the end of the year and several vaccines are slowly making their way around the globe. There’s a glimmering light ahead and if we cautiously watch our steps going forward, the future could look much better for all of us. Meanwhile, the death toll has reached 2.85 million around the world and is still climbing. I pray that everybody associated with Jazz Con Class Radio will endure this virus and at the same time realize that we must all learn to care for each other. All the “political rhetoric, all the “stereotyping,” all the“categorizing,” all the “disrespect” and even worse, all the “selfishness” will absolutely never stop this virus. For those who are not aware, the reason for these annual fundraisers is to aid Jazz Con Class Radio so it could continue to broadcast with absolutely no commercials or ads. That’s why anything that has to do with “Independence” and “Freedom” are always the main goal of these yearly fundraisers. This year is no different from any other before because like this virus that has overwhelmed our lives, the “financial” pressure to broadcast without any “commercialism” is always overshadowing and threatening the station. We all know very well from all the correspondence the listeners have sent throughout the years, they love the music and are very grateful for its FREEDOM of any commercial interruptions. Jazz Con Class Radio only plays “specific” high-quality music 24/7 with absolutely no strings attached! There’s absolutely no interrupting the broadcast in any stealthy manner, as you probably already have experienced with other stations. We know the tactics these Jazz stations take, how they are constantly mentioning and bragging how they are “commercial-free” but at the same time, are constantly interrupting the broadcast with local and international news and on an hourly basis. Not to mention, the occasional credit to all their sponsors which include the listener themselves, of course. It’s counter-productive, outright annoying and disgraceful to have one to two-week long fund drives (In the middle of broadcasting) to support the station, while the ones who are actually supporting it are forced to listen. It’s not fair to all the listeners, every one of them, supporters or not. We all know exactly what is going on and after all the repetitiveness, we get sick of it. This year’s campaign will run like the previous ones and will end on December 31th. BUT could suddenly stop if the goal is met beforehand. Yes, once the goal is reached, the fundraiser will finish! Again, I will not go on with all the expenses that must be met for a “legitimate” internet radio station to remain broadcasting because we all know they absolutely never go down. I will mention one thing though, you will have an almost impossible time finding a Jazz station that plays the same type of Jazz you hear on Jazz Con Class Radio and one that has been alive and FREE of any commercialism for almost 10 years! Of course, the reason why is because of the incredible LOYAL support from its Connoisseur Jazz Aficionados! Stay SAFE and PLEASE give whatever you can. Let’s keep FREE FROM ALL!
