Happy 2020 New Year

I would like to wish ALL you “Jazz Connoisseurs” and Jazz Con Class Radio fans a Happy 2020 New Year from the bottom of my heart! Last year turned out to be very productive, as the amount of listeners increased considerably and even more important, in a world wide manner. I’m so happy that Jazz is appreciated around the world and not only in America where it all began. It’s shameful though, as I have repeatedly mentioned in the past, how the music industry has stooped so low and has abandoned the musician. It makes you wonder how they can even call it “music” when its not played by musicians? Its incriminating as we all know very well. We are lucky though and our savior is the ease that modern technology allows us all to access all types of high quality music that is otherwise forgotten. Yes, music that is actually composed and performed by musicians and with musical instruments. As for Jazz, it is very intimate and quite difficult to spread around to others. Even though it’s not complicated first time listeners need to be educated with a sort of short historical introduction and of course with a quick explanation on the concept of “improvisation.” Some people do take longer than others to get a good grasp of it but when they do, it becomes a real revelation. In the past 10 years or so I have noticed how the younger generation has been slowly influenced away from learning and understanding the “Blues.” Jazz Con Class Radio is here for everyone, young and old, broadcasting 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Jazz represents the highest musical form of expression and once you “get it,” your life will change for the better and in all aspects. Some say and I completely agree, Jazz is life, all the ups and downs, all the emotional highs and lows, its straight from the heart. Jazz is the ultimate expression of “Freedom”, get a real doze of it, listen and live! Happy New Year and thanks for keeping Jazz ALIVE!

  1. Thank you Tim, the only reason why this station has been around for almost 10 years now is because of the kindness of people like you and your wife Sandi. The listeners make up the beating heart of this Jazz station, I just try to keep the blood that flows through it as pure as possible. These musicians were/are special, they gave it all they had and I am doing the same so anyone/everyone possible could hear them. They threw it all out there and I’m doing the same! Thank you Tim and Sandi!

  2. Hey Jose, Thanks for that very well written and beautiful post above. Jazz has been a part of my life for 60 years and as a full time musician (of many genres – different styles of jazz, blues, R&B, swing, beebop, etc.) for 50+ years, I truly appreciate the fact you’re standing up for real music and real live players on instruments. Thanks for all you do, from the bottom of our hearts! I’ve taught my wife, Sandi, everything I know about Jazz and she is a Jazz lover as well. We both enjoy Jazz Con Class immensely! All the best to you – Tim and Sandi in California

"I just downloaded this app and it's my first (certainly of many!) evenings with you. The music is great but so is the philosophy of why you created this space and the visual and functional appearance of the space.
Congratulations, I don't think I will ever become tired of visiting you!"

"We are very lucky to have Jose and his dedication to play the best of
America's finest and original music. Here's hoping that this obvious
labor of love continues for a very long time. A huge thank you is in
order!"

"Enjoy, very much, listening to your arrangements. My wife and I have two sons (14 & 11) who think Jazz is 'Dad's elevator music'. However, while we were watching 'High Society' Bing Crosby was leading the band in 'Now you has Jazz', while slowly adding each instrument. Finally, of course, the whole number was really rolling with Louis Armstrong leading the way! My youngest son, Joseph, said 'Dad, play that once more.' My wife smiled at me and I knew this wonderful, American art form was getting through to them.
Keep going, Jose. Jazz Con Class Radio is fabulous!"
