The importance to continue broadcasting Jazz Con Class Radio without advertising will need your kind contributions once again for the year of 2018. This campaign will run from the beginning of April and end on the last day of the year. I can as well end anytime, if the the goal is met beforehand. The broadcasting fees (Copyrights fees) have increased just a little this year and that’s a good thing, but the other components necessary for the station to continue have become more expensive to maintain. This year the fundraiser will concentrate more on the 50% increase in pricing by the cloud service I use to broadcast. This financial setback was inevitable because of the aging software they were using (5 years old) desperately needed to be upgraded. The new and improved cloud service provides me with a most reliable platform. I have all the necessary tools now to broadcast in the most professional manner. Hopefully it will not have to be replaced for another five years. The cloud service company that I’m mentioning here is Radio.co (Previously Cloud DJ) and the streaming service folks that I switched over to a couple of years ago, Yesstreaming are first rate companies and that’s hard to find in this business. It can become expensive to run a radio station in the most efficient manner and without any hitches. Jazz Con Class Radio runs 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, so it is imperative that I use the best out there in order to make sure my listeners never get cut off from the music. The stream rarely breaks down or even stops at all, they make sure of it! Almost all the great radio stations that I know of began broadcasting with the goal of playing whatever music they wanted to broadcast and whenever they wanted to, until they made the grave mistake of advertising. I think that defeats the purpose of being completely independent. Before you know it, the advertisers are telling them what to broadcast. I’m sure you all know by now, I’m not making a profit here and its not my intention either. I just need help to continue, this is why I start these fundraisers and why I probably will continue to in an annual basis. Commercials are unnecessary and very damaging to the flow of the music, we don’t need them. Let’s KEEP Jazz Con Class Radio totally INDEPENDENT and FREE of COMMERCIALISM!!
